The Gulf of Chiriquí is home to one of the most diverse and abundant combinations of inshore and offshore fishing in the world. At Sport Fish Panama Island, we are perfectly situated to do it all.

While the experience is most commonly divided into inshore and offshore fishing, on most trips we do a bit of everything.

Tuna fishing: throwing poppers, fishing tuna frenzies, live baiting, chunking, and running and gunning on tuna that are with schools of porpoise.
Marlin fishing: live baiting with bonito.
Trolling offshore: this is a great way to catch marlin, sailfish, dorado and more.
Inshore fishing: combination of slow trolling live baits and casting lures around islands and submerged pinnacles.
Deep Dropping: using our electric reels and jigging equipment to catch deepwater grouper and snapper.

We can tailor the experience if there’s a particular fish you’re after. Our normal approach involves targeting what’s biting (when you can catch more than 20 species, there’s usually always something going off!) and working our way through the options.

We can also tailor your trip to a specific type of gear. Some people enjoy fly fishing, there are those who are passionate about popping and jigging. We can do it all.
