March/2018 Panama Fishing Report – March marks the height of the dry season here in Panama, in the Gulf of Chiriquí. Blue skies, smooth seas, and great fishing! And March 2019 was no exception! This months action confirms again the complete angler’s paradise we have in the Gulf of Chiriquí. When hot you can expect double digit marlin bites daily, endless topwater tuna action and an abundance of aggressive Mahi-mahi!
We hosted a bunch of great groups in March 2018 here at Sport Fish Panama Island Lodge on Isla Paridas 12 miles off the Pacific coast of western Panama. Including three groups of repeat clients that had been here before.
We are the closest Panama fishing resort in Panama to the offshore action at Hannibal Bank and Isla Montuosa. A thirty minute boat ride (12 miles) from Boca Chica, and a one hour ride from David’s port of Pedregal, brings you to the largest island in the chain…Isla Paridas. No big industrial commercial fishing operations, and governmental protection of all billfish are a few of the reasons why fishing Panama is so great.
In addition our island lodge is a place where those who do not want to fish can enjoy and have fun while the anglers chase marlin, tuna, wahoo, grouper and more?
It was a great time as there were lots of BIG Yellowfin Tunas, Cubera Snappers, Roosterfish, and a few nice Black Marlin…as well as the many other various game fish species we normally see this time of year. The pictures tell the real story….enjoy!!!
