July/2018 Panama Fishing Report – We hosted a few great groups at our island lodge in July 2018. As usual….the Marlin, Tuna, and Dorado bites were strong. We had some really great action at Isla Montuosa which is only 38 miles from our lodge’s doorstep with the Yellowfin Tunas.

We fished 22 days hosting 7 great groups here on Isla Parida at our upscale Panama fishing resort.  Our sportfishing lodge is 12 miles off Boca Chica, Panama in the heart of the Gulf of Chiriqui. We are the closest fishing lodge in Panama to the offshore action at Hannibal Bank and Isla Montuosa. A thirty-minute boat ride (12 miles) from Boca Chica, and a one hour ride from David’s port of Pedregal, brings you to the largest island in the chain…Isla Parida. A little plug there, tell your friends! Plugs are not only for fishing…..

More of the July/2018 Panama Fishing Report – Jay Warner, from South Carolin, brought his entire family for 4 days of fishing. The girls out fished the old man, and are a lot better looking.  Max the youngest, out fished the girls. Maybe Jay should take up another hobby, like knitting…

No big industrial commercial fishing operations and governmental protection of all billfish are a few of the reasons why fishing Panama is so great. Our tuna fishing continues to get better every year and our seasons get longer. This is due in large part to the banning of purse seiners from the Gulf of Chiriquí.  In addition, most of the sportfishing captains no longer keep cubera snappers as they tend to be overfished by the locals.

Let’s let the pictures do the talking …
