December 2019 kicked off the 2019-2020 season here at Sport Fish Panama Island Lodge.  We hosted five great groups at our island lodge, which is 10 miles off the Pacific coast of Panama in the Gulf of Chiriquí.  Also, we did a few day charters from the mainland out of nearby Boca Chica. As a result of our anglers and good weather, we started this season with a bang!

Offshore and inshore fishing on our 33′ World Cat boats was incredible!  Also, the Yellowfin Tunas decided to show back up a bit early..and in numbers! Our clients caught over 15 different species, including Black/Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Dorado, Roosterfish, Bluefin Trevally, Cubera Snapper, Horse-Eye Jack, Mullet Snapper, Rock Snapper, and more!

Most importantly, our governmental protection of all billfish and the restrictions on big industrial commercial fishing operations are a few of the reasons why fishing in Panama is outstanding. Too many photos to post them all!

Thanks so much to all of our new and returning clients for choosing our lodge!  We hope that you enjoy our December 2019 Panama Fishing Report and welcome your comments or suggestions for future reports. Thanks for visiting our website and reading our reports.
