Aug/2018 Panama Fishing Report – August is typically a great month for anglers looking for variety and the fishing in August 2018 didn’t disappoint!

We are the closest fishing lodge in Panama to the offshore action at Hannibal Bank and Isla Montuosa. A thirty minute boat ride (12 miles) from Boca Chica, and a one hour ride from David’s port of Pedregal, brings you to the largest island in the chain…Isla Paridas.  No big industrial commercial fishing operations, and governmental protection of all billfish are a few of the reasons why fishing Panama is so great.

Although the weather was a bit inclement at times…the fishing was still real good! We got some nice pictures, had a few memorable days of great fishing, released and ate a bunch of fish, and had a great time!  We ran offshore pretty much every day and even though we had to work our way around some rain showers the seas were still pretty nice. We saw a number of whales, and the dorado fishing continues to improve.

We hosted 4 different groups out here on Isla Paridas and caught a great variety of species including: Roosterfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Almaco Jack, Dorado, Wahoo, Rock Snapper, Mullet Snapper, Sierra Mackerel, Jack Crevalle, Rainbow Runner, Blue Trevalle, Horse-Eye Jack, and more!

Here’s a few pics from the action….
