Nov 25-26/2015 Panama Fishing Report – Don, Chris, and Mike from Boston, Massachusetts joined us for Thanksgiving at Sport Fish Panama Island Lodge. These guys stayed on the island with us three nights and fished with me on the “TOP Cat” our 33′ World Cat catamaran for two days offshore here in the Gulf of Chiriquí.

Unusually high water temps, super calm seas, combined with small tides made the fishing really slow down. The high spots offshore at Isla Montuosa and Hannibal Bank were dead with little to no activity and no bait. We had to run quite a way to try and find the fish. Our searching paid off, we got lucky, and got into some good action at the end of each day. We had a couple of cool highlights…we caught and released a monster Mullet Snapper (that must have been close to 35 pounds) and a monster Rainbow Runner. Also had a pretty exciting triple header of Dorados that the guys all simultaneously hooked up with live baits and poppers on a big log we found offshore.

Chef Mark really out did himself and made a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner for us with all the fixings! Even though the fishing wasn’t red hot we still got some action and had a great time!

Enjoy the pics…
