So, you’ve decided on a Panama big game fishing and tuna fishing charter. You’ve made a good decision since the native name of Panama is roughly translated as abundance of fish, but with so many Panama fishing lodges how are you going to decide where to go? If you’re looking for an awesome offshore fishing charter in a tropical island paradise the choice is simple. Propiedad de Paradise is Panama's only exclusive island fishing resort that’s encompassed within the Chiriquí Marine Sanctuary.
Isla Coiba with Fog
Cascading Water
With its ideal location, the world renowned Hannibal Bank, Isla Coiba, Isla Montuosa, Islas Secas, Islas Ladrones and the 1,000-fathom line are all just a short run away. The beauty of your unique Panama fishing trip is that we’ve eliminated the long boat ride to and from the fishing grounds so you can spend more time catching and less time “fishing.” With Propiedad de Paradise a full day of fishing is actually a full day of fishing!
Black Marlin fishing and offshore tuna fishing charters in Panama
What makes this area so remarkable is the unique bathymetry dominated by undersea canyons. These features create banks and pinnacles that often peak less than 50-feet from the surface. With the strong underwater currents that are associated, baitfish are forced towards the surface bringing larger predators and highly prized game fish in tow.
Due to the lack of fishing pressure, both commercial and recreational, the inshore and offshore fishing action anglers experience at Propiedad de Paradise is nothing short of legendary. Being a little bit harder to get to makes the experience of catching giant tuna, marlin and roosterfish even more enjoyable. While the offshore opportunities for pelagic adversaries like wahoo, dolphin, yellowfin tuna, blue, black and striped marlin are no doubt world-class, the inshore fisheries provide equally as exciting action.
Cubera snapper, roosterfish, grouper, cero mackerel, corvina, blue trevally and amberjack are all worthy opponents that reside only a stone’s throw from the lodge. Inshore fishing isn’t as seasonal as the offshore scene, but beware. These widely available predators will put your angling prowess to the ultimate test.
Dolphin
Billfish season typically runs from December through April, however, during the prime months of January, February and March, marlin encounters will be common occurrences for visiting anglers. Acrobatic sailfish that top the 100-pound mark also join in on the feeding frenzy. Large yellowfin tuna invade the waters of Panama during February, March, April and May. While 50 to 80-pound fish are the norm, 100 to 200-pound cows are seen annually during March and April. Wahoo are notorious for their sharp teeth and brutal strikes and big ‘hoos can be consistent catches year round. While dolphin can be encountered any day of the year, the biggest bulls are often caught during the winter while trolling larger offerings for billfish.
